ANOTHER GUILTY VERDICT - HIP HIP HOORAY

I am sure you will join me in celebrating the guilty verdicts against Samuel and Joan Tree. See news reports below.

These verdicts are particularly pleasing because Samuel Tree was responsible for bringing the scam to the U.K. from the U.S. in the form of the Quadro Tracker (along with one Malcolm Roe, who we understand may be dead).

Tree and Roe introduced the Quadro Tracker to Gary Bolton (convicted of fraud last year over the GT200 variant of the 'detector').

The Quadro Tracker was then renamed MOLE. At some stage it seems Tree, Roe and Bolton fell out, and then Bolton hooked up with James McCormick (convicted last year over the ADE651 variant). Tree then when on to hook up with Simon Sherrard of Comstrac to make and sell the Alpha 6 variant, with substantial orders in Thailand, Mexico and Lebanon.

Of course, Bolton and McCormick fell out and went their own ways with the GT200 and ADE651.

So you could say that Tree is the root of all this evil, and all the branches of the U.K. end of this fraud stem from him. Well, now he will take his leave of us for a while in prison, and I hope his sentence will reflect his central role in the scandal.

That makes five of the six defendants in these fraud cases who have been convicted (the other being Anthony Williamson with his XK-9 variant). Regrettably, incredibly and sadly Simon Sherrard was found not guilty. He must be feeling very lucky today, but you never know when and how he might yet come a cropper. Perhaps the Police will be able to get the Trees to drop him in it, and a retrial with new evidence would then be on the cards. Let's hope so!

So, raise a glass tonight and wish them all the best in jail. They are a delightful couple, aren't they!

P.S. What a nice guy Sam must be! To allow his wife to go down with him.

This is a retrial as the Jury was unable to decide last time around. We had thought that this was due back in May, but seems to have been delayed for some unknown reason. Probably best not to make any detailed comment at this stage as would not want to stymie the proceedings with anything potentially prejudicial. Will just say for now that hope for the right outcome!

UPDATE 1900 15 July

I regret to have to inform you that the trial has apparently been postponed due to the Judge falling ill. We can only hope that the delay is not too long, as we are keen to see justice is done. If we receive any further news we will of course try to let you know as soon as possible.

Just a quickie to let you know that the trial picked up last week from where it left off following the Judge falling ill. We will keep an eye out for any media reports, and for the result.

Amazing that they are still so defensive. Or perhaps not. After all, the whole scandal must be very embarrassing for officials probably still working in Whitehall who allowed this to happen.

Let's hope the efforts of Rob in tenaciously following up this story help to hit the idiots who were involved right where it hurts! And that the further coverage helps the campaigners in Mexico to end the use of the GT200 and ADE651.

Of course, we have recent reports that the ADE651 is still in use in Iraq, and possibly Kenya. The more media coverage of these scandals the sooner we hope they will be brought to an end.

IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER

Now that Gary Bolton has been found guilty of fraud for making and selling the Mole and GT200 fake detectors, we must await sentencing. Apparently this has been delayed until late August or early September. It seems Bolton is trying to claim that he has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Perhaps the thought of losing all his money is causing him some distress? Sounds like a try on to us. 

It does seem a bit cheeky of him to claim he has psychological problems. We wonder how his victims feel about this i.e. those who were blown up, or falsely arrested because his dodgy devices did not work.

We are sure Judge Hone will not be fooled, and will give him the maximum sentence of 10 years. The same as James McCormick.

Anyway, there are quite a few loose ends still to tie up, apart from his sentencing:

1. Hopefully the convictions of both Bolton and McCormick will finally see the end of the use of the GT200, ADE651, and other similar devices in places like Iraq, Mexico, Thailand and Kenya. If you have been following this story, you will know that despite the overwhelming evidence that these 'detectors' detect nothing at all, some of those who were probably recipients of bribes have continued to defend their use.

It would also be jolly nice if the officials who were bribed to buy the 'detectors' were also prosecuted, wherever they are. I am sure the victims of the failure of these devices to operate would appreciate that.

2. We still want to know the full extent of UK Government support for Bolton, and to see some heads roll here for having been so damned stupid as to get involved with such an obvious fraud. Please be assured, we will be continuing to work to expose them.

3. We will also be working to continue to expose those who tried to defend the indefensible. In particular, Mt Grahame Gardner of the British Society of Dowsers (below you will find a picture of the 'delightful' Gardner, looking a tad too smug for our liking!), and Mr Geoffrey Crockford, who acted as witnesses on behalf of Bolton and his fake detectors at his trial.

I have no hesitation in calling these 'gentlemen' total scumbags. They presented no evidence. Just useless anecdotes. To defend the fake detectors which have resulted in so much misery is simply despicable.

Finally, for now, we hope that this fraud is well and truly on the way to the dustbin of history, although we are realistic enough to know that these things have a tendency to return. After all, sadly, there seems to be a fraudster, a corrupt official, and a gullible fool born every second.

ANONYMOUS PROBLEM

I have a request to make to all my wonderful followers and readers. I hope it is not too much to ask.

As those of you who have been keeping up with the comments to my blog pieces recently will know, there has been a flood of people using the posting name 'Anonymous'.

Now, the first thing I have to say is that if you want to keep your identity a secret, I have no objection to that. In fact, if you try to defend dowsing or the fake detectors then I can understand why. After all, if you are that daft, then you really would not want anyone to know who you are. People might laugh at you, and that would not be nice.

On the other hand, so many different people calling themselves Anonymous can get a bit confusing at times, especially when trying to reply. In consultation with Techowiz we have come up with a solution to this problem.

Don't worry! You can still keep your real identity a secret. All you need to do is create a user name so that we can reply specifically to your comments.

If you are struggling to think up a user name, we have some suggestions. For those who are supporters of dowsing or the fake detectors, here is a list of possible names you could choose from:

Andres Tonini and a few other good men and women and true in Mexico fight on. This piece was published in physicsworld.com recently, and sums up the problems that still exist after the British Government assisted Gary Bolton and Global Technical to help sell the MOLE and GT200 fraudulent detectors.

I won't make the usual comments. It speaks for itself.

We are hoping the Mexican Government will wake up soon and ban the use of the GT200, ADE651 or any similar swivelling detector fraud they may have bought. And make a Formal Complaint and Compensation Claim against the British Government, so that we might at last get some real action from our expense thieving and/or mealy mouthed Members of Parliament

After all, we have pointed out before that it is odd that not enough serious action has been taken yet. MOST MYSTERIOUS! HOPPY THE HOPPING MAD FROG WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS!

We thought that maybe Brinley Salzmann of ADS, Major General Alan Sharman (retd.) and others in the UK Defence establishment might like to say sorry for helping Gary Bolton sell his MOLE and GT200 Fake Detectors around the World, and thus contributing to the death and destruction and havoc that these scam devices cause wherever they are used.

ADS calls on the British Government to impose an immediate Worldwide ban on the export of these fraudulent devices, and to make further strenuous efforts to urge Mexico, Thailand and the rest of the World never to use these types of devices ever again.

ADS calls on the U.K. Police and Prosecution authorities to expedite charges against Gary Bolton, James McCormick and their associates for murderous fraud, as well as anyone here in the UK also involved e.g. John Wyatt.

ADS calls on the British Government to make every effort to recover as much of the blood money associated with this disgusting trade.

ADS deeply regrets British involvement in the promotion and export of these disgusting frauds, and the subsequent substantial loss of lives, limbs and liberty.

ADS now vets potential members far more thoroughly than when Gary Bolton and Global Technical managed to gain membership of the predecessor Defence Manufacturers Association.

Especially his lie that Bolton never mentioned his dodgy device when he went to Parliament with his big wig Defence Manufacturers Association friends.

'Talking of jobs that we’d be better off without, the government announced the decision to close the Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO), a department employing over 400 people and headed by an arms trade businessman.  The decision proved very popular with campaigners against the arms trade who think that DESO promotes the sale of military equipment by British companies to repressive regimes and approves corrupt payments to foreign politicians and officials to secure these sales.  They also believe that DESO was too close to central government to allow independent decision-making.  Unsurprisingly the great whites and hammerheads of the arms industry were up in, well, um, arms.  They launched an undoubtedly well-funded lobbying campaign to oppose the closure.  With absolutely no sense of irony, Major General Alan Sharman, the head of the Defence Manufacturers' Association, said: "This was a complete bombshell. I am amazed."  You plonker, Rodney!  Derek Marshall, of the Society of British Aerospace Companies, said that DESO had helped to make British arms companies second in the world's arms trade. We sent this email yesterday to the various companies that Major General Sharman (retd.) holds Directorships with, in the hope that they will be good enough to pass it on. Just in case it does not reach him that way, here is that email, so that he cannot say he did not know about our cordial invitation. R.S.V.P. Let us see if he does.....

You will no doubt be aware that we have an interest in Gary Bolton of Global Technical, for having corruptly sold the MOLE and GT200 fake detectors in places like Thailand and Mexico.

For some context, this is the same Major General Alan Sharman who said:

This is how I would like to see Jim McCormick, Gary Bolton, David Vollmar, and the others involved in this sorry saga!

That includes the corrupt buyers!

However, if that is not to be then perhaps the best we can hope for is what a professional has called for:

Just thought Jim McCormick (ATSC ADE651), Gary Bolton (Global Technical GT200), David Vollmar (SNIFFEX HEDD1), Simon Sherrard (Alpha 6) and any others selling fake explosive detectors, might like to face up to the sight of someone caiught in an explosion. Lovely isn't it!

And you pieces of SH1T go round pretending that you can prevent these atrocities.
