VOLLMAR OF UNIVAL CHARGED WITH FRAUD

It's been a while since we had any news to bring you, but hot from Germany we hear that David Vollmar of Unival has been charged with 47 (yes! forty seven) counts of fraud. This is great news. We do not have any details yet, but will bring them to you as we hear more.

In case you do not remember, Vollmar and his sidekick Frank Trier, did a deal some years ago with Yuri Markov (the Bulgarian 'inventor' of Sniffex) to market and sell Sniffex. Markov had previously fled the U.S. following charges of stock manipulation over Sniffex.

Sniffex was renamed Sniffex Plus, and then, when our campaign to expose it heated up they renamed it the HEDD1.

Anyway, as I say, we'll get back with more details when we can.

2014 - NEW YEAR. SOME JOY, BUT STILL MUCH NONSENSE

Hello and a happy New Year to our faithful readers. Well, not all of them! The ones that don't deserve a happy New Year know who they are.

2013 was a mixed year for the Fake Explosives Detectors Campaign. Naturally we celebrated the convictions and jailing of James McCormick (ADE651) and Gary Bolton (GT200). Hope you are enjoying your surroundings boys. Of course, we await the Proceeds of Crime actions against these two, and hope that they will be unable to comply, hence allowing them to spend even more time at Her Majesty's pleasure (i.e. in prison), given that the Judge was sadly limited in the sentences he could hand out.

On the down side we saw another of the crooks, Simon Sherrard (ALPHA6) manage to convince a jury he was innocent of fraud. A crying shame! This year will see the re-trial of his partners, Sam and Joan Tree. We will of course report on that, subject to reporting restrictions.

Other bad news included reports of ongoing use of the ADE651 in Iraq, and the GT200 in Mexico, even after the convictions of McCormick and Bolton. Just goes to show what a mad World we inhabit.

Sadly we have yet to see any action in Germany against David Vollmar and Frank Trier at Unival, where they are still selling the entirely useless HEDD1 (formerly known as Sniffex). We hold out hope that they will eventually be rounded up. Of course, Yuri markov, who invented Sniffex, and managed to evade prosecution for fraud in the U.S. by running away back to Bulgaria may have been a bit worried that one of his co-conspirators was jailed in the U.S., some 7 years after the Sniffex case blew up. We still hope the FBI will seek to extradite Markov.

There are so many loose ends to the fake detectors fraud, but after nearly five and half years of our campaign, at least we can be grateful for some progress against this despicable trade.

Naturally we salute our old friend Techowiz, and wish him a great New Year. Hoping to be sharing a drink or two with him again soon.

Will leave it there for now, but you may be sure this is not the last you have heard from us.

Au revoir.

JUST IN CASE

We have been getting worried that our previous posts about the HEDD1 may have been slipping down the search engine rankings.

Just to make sure this is not the case here is a very brief post to remind everyone that the HEDD1 is a fraud, just like all the other swivelling aerials. Yes. We know that they claim it is different because it does not use a reference card system. Yes. We know they claim it works on some principle to do with magnetism. BUT! NO! It does not work, and can not work.

They claim they have secret test results that claim the HEDD1 is brilliant. We say, prove it. They don't. Conclusion? They are lying bastards.

And, for those of you who are new to the fake detector scam, who are 'they'? Well, they are David Vollmar and Frank Trier at Unival in Germany.

Of course, they did not invent HEDD1. That was Yuri Markov of TASC in Bulgaria, who first launched his crap in America, under the name of Sniffex. When that scam fell apart and Yuri had to run back to Bulgaria, he launched Sniffex Europe, and came to a marketing agreement with Unival.

After we started our campaign against the fake detectors, and highlighted Sniffex as one of them, Unival changed the name to HEDD1. But that was just what we call polishing a turd. Same crap, different name.

So, to remind anyone who is thinking of buying HEDD1, DON'T!

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

I am a bit late reporting this due to having been on vacation, but I am sure you will all agree it is very good news indeed. As Lumpy says, this might give pause for thought to the people still involved in selling the Sniffex/HEDD1, as well as the others who made of with lots of lolly from the pump and dump scam. You know who you are!

http://sniffexquestions.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/who-else-is-serving-seven-years-in.html

Of course, it is a shame that Lankford was only prosecuted for stock fraud, and not for the fact that Sniffex itself was a fraudulent product in the first place, but at least he is languishing in jail.

ANONYMOUS PROBLEM

I have a request to make to all my wonderful followers and readers. I hope it is not too much to ask.

As those of you who have been keeping up with the comments to my blog pieces recently will know, there has been a flood of people using the posting name 'Anonymous'.

Now, the first thing I have to say is that if you want to keep your identity a secret, I have no objection to that. In fact, if you try to defend dowsing or the fake detectors then I can understand why. After all, if you are that daft, then you really would not want anyone to know who you are. People might laugh at you, and that would not be nice.

On the other hand, so many different people calling themselves Anonymous can get a bit confusing at times, especially when trying to reply. In consultation with Techowiz we have come up with a solution to this problem.

Don't worry! You can still keep your real identity a secret. All you need to do is create a user name so that we can reply specifically to your comments.

If you are struggling to think up a user name, we have some suggestions. For those who are supporters of dowsing or the fake detectors, here is a list of possible names you could choose from:

PLONKER
DIPSTICK
MORON
BRAINDEAD
DOH!
NUMPTY
BLOCKHEAD
NUTTER
AIRHEAD
FRUITCAKE
MEATHEAD
IMBECILE
APOSTOL

And, for those of you who don't like the people who sell or support the frauds:

LOVELY PERSON
GENIUS
TERMINATOR
JUDGE DREDD
EINSTEIN
BONA FIDE
Mr or Mrs SCRUPLES
EVI DENCE
F.ACTUAL

P.S. In case you have not had a chance to read the sort of comments I have been receiving lately, there are some very good examples on the post 'A TRUE GENIUS?' below. Enjoy!

WHEN IS SOMETHING PATENTLY BULLSHIT?

IMAGE 1

IMAGE 2

IMAGE 1: The FAST/C-FAST
IMAGE 2: A DALEK

Spot the similarity.

Following on from an article in the Guardian earlier this week, news of a 'miraculous' new device to detect Hepatitis C spread around the internet like wildfire. Why? Because many a good skeptic smelled a very large rat.

My friend Techowiz has already blogged about this (see link below).

Now we have more information sent to us by our new friend, Pepijn Van Erp of kloptdatwel.nl (a jolly good skeptical website in Holland, if you speak Dutch of course).

Pepijn has sent us the Patent Application for the FAST (Field Advanced Detection Tool).

As I have had to point out to our other 'friends', David Vollmar and Frank Trier of Unival who sell the HEDD1 (formerly SNIFFEX), a patent does not mean a device works. See for example various so called perpetual energy machines that have received patents in the past. Have you seen any for sale recently?

Oh yes, and there is another interesting link to David and Frank and the HEDD1! The patent application for the FAST, which claims to be able to detect diseases in people and plants (What about animals I hear you animal lovers shout? Oh yes! It can also detect swine flu!), as well as drugs and explosives, refers to a previous U.S. patent applied for in 2002 by our other old 'friend' Yuri Markov. That would be the same Yuri Markov who 'invented' the SNIFFEX of course. WOW. The connections.

Now then, I could try to tell you why the FAST or C-FAST as it is now known is a complete load of garbage, but really, do I have to bother? Just take a look at the Patent application, lodged in the name of the Egyptian Government and the 'inventor' Brigadier Ahmed Amien, an engineer and so called bomb detection expert who built it with a 60-strong team from the Egyptian army's engineering department. Now where else have we heard of a military man who is a bomb detection expert. Oh yes, it's all coming back to me now! Perhaps our old 'friends' Major General al Jabiri, or perhaps Col John Wyatt Twerp.

Anyway, back to the FAST or C-FAST. We were mightily impressed by the novel handle design, which looks a bit like a thin Dalek. But then again, do you recognise that well known free pivoting radio aerial. Yes folks! That old chestnut! A sure indicator that the device couldn't detect poo in a sewage farm, let alone anything else.

So, I will leave you to read said Patent Application, and weep yet again for yet another variation on the wonderful dowsing rod scam.

Enjoy here:

And, for more merriment, do take a peek at what Techowiz has to say about FAST/C-FAST at his ever wonderful blog here:

How Many Egyptians Does It Take To Make A Scam?

P.S. When I say friend without inverted commas, then I mean friend. When I say 'friend' with inverted comments you will understand what I mean!

THE AMAZING RANDI

Anyone who has followed the Fake Explosives Detectors Campaign (FEDC) will know that I was inspired by James Randi of the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF)

Back in 2008 Randi issued his Million Dollar Challenge (MDC) to the ADE651. It was the fact that the ADE651 was being sold by a British company that got my goat (Damn, I loved that goat! Not carnally I hasten to add! Just joking. Got my goat means it made me mightily angry),

Anyway, it was the Randi MDC that motivated me to start to investigate further, and subsequently to encounter my great friend and great man Techowiz. Anyone who wants to know more can go back to the beginning of this blog and follow the story, or see the book of the blog at the link below (the book is easier to follow because it starts at the very beginning).

Here we link to a recent interview with The Amazing Randi at the Magic Castle. The interviewer is the marvellous mentalist, Max Maven.

It's well worth listening to the whole interview because Randi is truly a great skeptic. Despite his advancing age and recent illness, he is a deep well of great stories and wisdom.

However, for those of you with not much time, fast forward to 40 minutes in when Randi discusses the MDC with Max, and explains a little of how it works. He also mentions the Quadro Tracker and the ADE651 (actually he calls it the ADE561 but I think we'll forgive him for getting two digits the wrong way around!).

Well, we are now over three years into the campaign, and of course, none of the main criminals involved in the trade in fancy dress dowsing rods have been charged with any crime. Since Randi has been publicising this scam since 1995, isn't it AMAZING that little or nothing has been done to end this disgusting fraud? If you agree, please spread the word.

N.B. Randi can be very generous to deluded people who believe in all sorts of BS, despite the fact that he endeavours to expose frauds, scams, psychics (e.g. Sylvia Browne and John Edward) etc etc. We just want to make it clear that none of the Fake Explosives Detectors have ever been put forward for the MDC despite numerous challenges from Randi down the years, and despite some of our 'favourite'  fraudsters saying they would or might take the challenge, or indeed get proper testing carried out. WHY NOT? Because of course they know they are selling a fraud!

FINDE ICH SCHON

Wenn der Hund bellt und ist bissig,
und ich bin verzagt,
Ganz einfach sofort wird mein Kummer vergeh'n
Ich denke an das was schön

Why the German? Back to Bonn again to meet our pals, David Vollmar and Frank Trier at Unival. The sellers of the HEDD1 (Hasn't Even Detected DooDoo Once!).

We have had a Financial Times Germany article translated, and it tells me some of my favourite things. Like what idiots Vollmar and Trier, and anyone who falls for the HEDD1 are. Like how they never produce legitimate evidence. Like the fact that they are really getting upset with us.

Translation from Financial Times Deutschland (FTD) article on Unival and the HEDD1.

Date of publication: March 19th 2010.

New bomb detector “Wünschel Dir was”.

A little black apparatus with a tuning antenna on top could make the body-scanner controversy in Germany come to an end: The HEDD1 is supposed to locate explosives from as far as 100 meters away, even through walls. If only there weren´t so many doubters. Serge Debrebant (author), Bonn, Nora Schlüter (assistance)

It is an unpleasant winter's day, cold and damp, and the underground car park in Bonn where I  find myself is not exactly welcoming. But I am accepting the circumstances because I am about to become witness of a security-technology revolution: The Unival company is demonstrating its bomb detector to me, a hand held device with the somewhat impersonal name "HEDD1". Upon closer inspection, the 276 gr machinery looks like a black bicycle grip with some sort of antenna attached to it, which in turn will rotate towards the direction where the bomb is.

If you believe the manufacturer, this device is more effective than any comparable bomb detectors on the market. As a genuine all-rounder, it may detect TNT, dynamite, liquid, plastic, and many other explosives from a distance of up to 100m. Even concrete walls are no obstacle. "There is no other technology that is able to discover explosives from such a distance” says David Vollmar. He is the founder and owner of Unival Group, a small, young company for security technology in Bonn. "The detection rate of HEDD1 is over 80 percent."

Unival coach (Head of Training) Frank Trier demonstrates the application of HEDD1

But you have to know that Vollmar does not refer to scientific tests, but rather to more than 100 presentations that were organized by Unival. If the 80 percent detection rate were really true, the HEDD1 could solve many security problems in one swoop. Self-made roadside bombs in Afghanistan? No problem. De-mining? Ditto. With HEDD1 the Detroit aeroplane bomber would never have slipped through the checks. If it was up to Vollmar, the world would not discuss the use of body scanners at airports, but the HEDD1.

Why does it not? Because many experts doubt that bomb detectors like HEDD1 are anything more but a self-deception of the user. In recent years, a whole group of models appearing very like dowsing/divining rods came on the market, to detect explosives through the antenna swinging. The best example is ATSC, a British company that has delivered a device called the ADE651 to Iraq. Among other things - the government in Baghdad bought more than 1,500 pieces at a price of up to 45,000 pounds.

In January, the company owner was arrested on suspicion of fraud. Inside the detector only simple RFID tags were found, as used, for example, in shops to prevent theft. According to scientists from the University of Cambridge it is impossible for these tags to discover anything at all. Nobody knows how many people lost their lives at checkpoints, because the security forces relied on the ADE651.

Unival do not want to be associated with such charlatanism. Now I want to convince myself of how the HEDD1 functions properly. For this reason I hide two small explosive charges in the underground car park: a rifle cartridge and a pack with New Year's Eve firecrackers. Vollmar and Frank Trier, who is responsible for customer training at Unival, wait outside. They are convinced of the potential of their product: "In the next one to two years, we will have sold up to 3,000 units," says Vollmar. The cost of around 8000 € for an apparatus is almost a bargain: A body scanner is at least $ 150,000.

The predecessor of HEDD1 was sold some 2000 times to 40 countries around the world, including to the Turkish army, the Iraq interior and defence ministries and the Italian border patrol - but also to the German Wisag, a service provider with approximately 20,000 employees. For a discussion of the detector there was no one available (at WISAG) on request.

Behind the invention of HEDD1 is a tinkerer named Yuri Markov, a Bulgarian. For more than 15 years, the former telecommunications engineer has worked on the development of the system that was first marketed in the U.S. under the name "Sniffex" - and that the German company Unival now exclusively distributes as HEDD1. Markov will not reveal what technology exactly is behind it,  For example, he does not say what is inside that metal container that is at the heart of the detector. Trade secret.

What he reveals is: The HEDD1 creates a "modulated magnetic field" if the magnets above and below the metal container set the substance in vibration. Additionally, a magnetic field is created around the explosive substance. In the event of magnetic fields overlapping, the antenna turns towards the direction of the bomb. The human body thereby acts as some sort of amplifier.

One of Markov's harshest critics is the professional skeptic James Randi, a former magician and escape artist, who has made it his mission to expose charlatans and pseudo-scientists. Sniffex he calls "a fake, a fraud, a hoax." Unconscious self-deception of the user, are responsible for the movements of the device is a similar way to a seance glass moving. The U.S. Navy has proved him right.  They tested the Sniffex after the bombings in London, the report appeared in 2008 on the research portal ProPublica. In one test scenario, two trucks laden with 500 kilos of explosives directly drove past the Sniffex. Reaction? None. The result of the investigation: "The Sniffex hand held detector is not able to detect explosives."

For Vollmar, however, the test does not speak against Sniffex but rather against the Navy "The previous (Sniffex) devices were difficult to handle. The Navy has operated the equipment incorrectly. Under these conditions, the test does not succeed." In one photograph, published with the report, a man holds a bomb detector in front of him like a revolver. Completely wrong, to do it that way. How to do it right? Trier shows me during the search of the car park: Pull out the antenna, smoothly and direct it downwards. Then he presses the device against the side of the chest and positions it forward. Like this, Trier walks in circles several times, to explore the terrain.

What does the scientific community say about this? "I'm not an expert on magic wands or April Fools', grumbles a researcher who does not want to be named, but who himself has once worked on developing a bomb detector. Even for Franz Fujara, professor of Physics at the TU (Technical University) Darmstadt the whole thing appears "a bit obscure". "Scientific terms are indeed being used, but together they make no sense," says the physicist. The patent application of HEDD1 was "either very foolish or an insolence." The other four scientists with whom I speak are also more than skeptical. "We do not believe that one can detect such small magnetic fields at such distances," emailed me Hannes Toepfer, a professor of physics at the TU (Technical University) of Ilmenau. But Mr. Trier and Mr. Vollmar have now got the opportunity to convince me of the opposite.

The antenna reacts for the first time and points very clearly towards a Mercedes. "Before we now crawl on the floor – will you not want to clarify this," asks Vollmar. But they can crawl endlessly: There is nothing hidden (in the Mercedes). Unless the driver maybe has firecrackers in the trunk. Now Vollmar also grabs himself a HEDD1 and joins the search. This time, the antenna points at a car that is covered with a blue tarp. It's a bit like Hit the Pot (children´s game): warm but not hot. The package with the firecrackers is under the car next to it. The next indication again is a blank. Vollmar picks up a traffic cone and looks behind a fire extinguisher. Nothing.

Perhaps it is smarter to rely on conventional detectors instead of modulated magnetic fields, even if they do not guarantee complete security. At airports, for example, metal detectors and X-ray machines are being used. So-called egis devices analyze traces of compound gases that are often used with explosives. All these techniques have drawbacks, however: they are too slow, too prone to error, difficult to operate or they can only detect specific explosives. That is why intensive research on new technologies is done.

In the parking garage Vollmar is screwing up his last chance. Although the antenna is pointing in the right direction - the last remaining corner of the parking garage - but when Trier walks down the line of cars, the antenna, again, does not point at the right car. "That surprises me," mutters Trier. Vollmar explains: "We do not exactly know where to find the material we can only roughly tell and if you find something, you have to lock down the premises and call the bomb squad..."

So far, hardly any Western agency acquired a HEDD1 or its predecessor. But Vollmar hopes that this will soon change. A German security agency is supposedly considering a purchase. Which one it is, he does not want to reveal. The press offices of BKA (Federal Criminal Department) and BND (Federal Intelligence Agency) refuse to comment, and the Federal Office for Defense Technology procurement denies any interest.

Vollmar and Markov intend to further invest into the technology in the coming years. A prototype for antibiotics has already been developed, says Markov. Detectors for chemical, biological and nuclear warfare agents are being planned. A silver bullet that is. Only the U.S. Department of Justice again makes everything look bad. Ten years ago it issued a warning: "Be wary of devices that use a pivoting rod, which is held almost horizontally, and which points at the sought material."

No scientific test has ever confirmed the functioning of such devices. The description perfectly fits the HEDD1 – even though, at the time, it did not exist.

ADS STANDS FOR?

A DUMB SQUAD? A (LOT OF) DAFT SODS? A DISASTER SCENARIO?

No, in this case we are returning to our friends from a few posts ago. From their very own website:

'A|D|S is the trade organisation advancing the UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space industries. Farnborough International Limited (FIL), which runs the Farnborough International Airshow, is a wholly-owned subsidiary.

A|D|S has offices in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, France and India with new offices planned in China and the Middle East.  A|D|S was formed from the merger of the Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS), the Defence Manufacturers Association (DMA) and the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) in October 2009. A|D|S also encompasses the British Aviation Group (BAG).

Together with its regional partners, A|D|S represents over 2,600 companies.'
You will recall that we invited Major General Alan Sharman (retd. the poor dear!) to comment on why he took Gary Bolton of GT200 infamy to Parliament to whinge about the need for more Export Credit Guarantees for his fake explosives device.

Now, as you know, due to our dissection and detection, the Major general tried to neatly sidestep any responsibility for his actions whatsoever. It was all such a long time ago! How was he to know who he took with him to Parliament? The Defence Manufacturers Association (ADS as was) can not be held liable in any way for not thoroughly checking out its members, even when they did go to Parliament with the DMA bigwigs, including Major General Alan Sharman (retired of course!)?

Anyway, you can see how we tore Major General Alan Sharman apart in our previous postings on the subject.

However, just as interesting was a response to our questions to Major General Sharman (retd. don't forget!) from:

INFORMATION PROVIDED IN CONFIDENCE AND NOT FOR PUBLIC RELEASE

(The Fake Explosives Detectors Campaign does not know of any legal reason why, in the Public Interest, we should not publish this. If anyone wishes to correct us please feel free to do so. We did in fact offer Brinley the chance to avoid us publishing his letter - see below for details!! Publish and be damned. That's what we say!)

Dear Mr Robinson,

I have been passed your e-mail message of 22nd November which was addressed to Major General Alan Sharman, CBE, concerning the inclusion of Mr Gary Bolton, of Global Technical, in our Industry team giving oral evidence on ECGD funding to the House of Commons' Trade & Industry Committee on 9th November 1999.

(Who passed you my e-mail to Major General Alan Sharman, CBE - Covering Backside Every time?)

Major General Sharman has, in fact, long since retired (back in the summer of 2007, to be exact), and the DMA no longer exists, but was merged with the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) back on 1st October 2009, to form ADS Group Ltd.

(2007 is not really long since is it? In fact it is recent history in many people books. Even if not tactically speaking, certainly strategically! Decisions he and you and others took many years ago are still unwinding today. I mean I bet if we look back at some of his procurement activity in the 1990s that it is still impacting now, just as decisions he took at the DMA probably still resonate, like the echos of explosions, down the years. And let's face it. he is hardly fully retired when he holds at least 4 Company Directorships we know of, plus no doubt other honorary positions. Just because the DMA no longer exists, as you yourself are proof, many of the same people are still around an in charge, so you can hardly divorce yourselves from the past just because you changed your name, now can you!)

However, whilst I was not actually one of the Industry witnesses giving evidence before the Committee on that day, I was present in a supporting function, which is why I have been asked to respond to your query.
(Interesting. Can you be more specific about your role in advance of that meeting and during it? For example, were you solely or partly responsible for selecting Gary Bolton to go with the Maj Gen (retd.) and you before our august Parliament? How was he selected? How many times had you met Gary Bolton before that meeting at the House of Commons' Trade & Industry Committee? Had you ever been introduced to the MOLE or the GT200 prior to the Committee meeting? Are you aware of anyone else at the DMA who had been introduced to the MOLE/GT200 at that time? Did Gary Bolton exhibit the MOLE or GT200 at any DMA sponsored or supported events either before or after 1/10/1999? From/To what dates was Gary Bolton/Global Technical, a member of the DMA? Was Gary Bolton/Global technical ever a member of ADS? Did Gary Bolton serve any official function for the DMA/ADS while a member? We may have more questions later but that will do for now!)

Whilst we now know that Global Technical were one of the commercial entities behind the now thoroughly discredited electrostatic bomb detector phenomenon, this was far from being their only product, (SO WHAT?) and they are also active in the provision of a range of electronic countermeasures systems, digital CCTV systems and training courses, etc, etc which have been successfully sold to customers around the World (some of them Government Embassies, etc), with, to our knowledge, absolutely no reported concerns on the performance of their products and services. Therefore, they were not a single product commercial entity, although now their electrostatic bomb detectors are, of course, what they are particularly synonymous (and infamous) for, but a multi-faceted one, with a wide portfolio of products and services. (BLIMEY READER, I AM BREATHLESS AFTER THAT, ARE YOU? LEGALISTIC BOVINE SCATOLOGY (Thanks to:
General Herbert Norman Schwarzkop, also known as "Stormin' Norman" and "The Bear", is a retired United States Army General ! WHO WROTE THAT FOR YOUR YOU BRINLEY? CARTER PLUCK OR A.N.OTHER BUNCH OF STITCH UP MERCHANTS?)

(AGAIN SO WHAT. As we keep saying to David Vollmar at Unival in Germany who sells the HEDD1 (formerly SNIFFEX) variant of the same fraud, he could be an angel otherwise but that does not excuse the major crime he is committing selling known fake explosives detectors! That is such a weak diversionary tactic Brinley! Honestly!! And the main reason they are famous/infamous for their fraudulent - you missed that word out Brinley! You naughty boy!! Spank Spank!! - electrostatic 'explosives' detectors is because we helped expose them in the UK. BUT, someone back in 1999 should have spotted this fraud if anyone who came anywhere near Gary Bolton had a brain that is!)

I am afraid that we lack the in-house technical expertise (and resources) to be able to test ALL of the products (and services) offered by ALL of our Member Companies, to enable us to satisfy ourselves that they all work as advertised, and have to rely on the technical assessments and testing which is undertaken by relevant technical experts from the British Government (eg the UK MoD and/or the Home Office). Their assessments of a range of electrostatic bomb detectors then being marketed by a number of UK firms were only privately provided to us in c.2008/09, when this whole issue came sharply into the public spotlight, and long after the evidence session to which you have referred took place.

(Who bought the issue sharply into the public spotlight? We did! But see also James Randi below. You Poor Things! Thousands of members selling billions of arms and they can't do some simple background checks on their members, even when they take them to Parliament to whinge for money! Ho Ho!! What information did the MOD/British Government provide you privately in 2008/2009? Why do you think they did so privately? Who provided that information? Why did it then take until 2009 for MOD/ADS etc to request Global Technical remove all references to accreditation? There was plenty of evidence of the swivelling aerial fraud available on the Internet even back in 1999. See James Randi and the Quadro Tracker. Doesn't it seem odd to you that no one in the Defence Industry, MOD, Government, Royal Engineers apparently spotted this for a long time? We can't identify when the UK Government/MOD/Royal Engineers/DMA actually pulled the rug on Bolton, but it looks like it coukd have been 2004 when the support stopped. We ask why? And if someone had discovered it was a fraud back then why didn't they say something? Either way a lot of lives could have been saved by now! See where we are coming from Tweedledum and Tweedledummer?)

We had been seeking to include in our evidence team at least one representative of the UK's Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) sector, who was actively involved in the exports arena, so that this vitally important sector of UK Industry's voice and views could be seen to be heard on the issue of ECGD financial export support, and Gary provided that view.
(see above i.e how was Bolton selected/by whom etc?) Given that almost all of our other SME Member Companies would have made exactly the same comments to the Committee (BUT, most if not all would have been selling stuff that worked, even if it doesn't always come in on time and on budget! There is a subtle difference mate!), and he was not there as part of our Industry team to promote his electrostatic bomb detectors, but was almost certainly airing his comments relating to his practical experiences with marketing his other commercial products around the World, there was nothing within his evidence to alert us to the controversy in which he and his company have now found themselves embroiled, or to give us any cause for concern.

(RUBBISH. LIAR! Funny you should say that! It's on the record of the meeting of the House of Commons' Trade & Industry Committee on 9th November 1999 as follows:

During the session Bolton was addressed directly by the chairman, Baron O'Neill, the following is direct from the minutes:

Mr Bolton -following on immediately from major General Alan Sharman (retd.)) Basically my experience of my first contact with ECGD, was the sum involved was not large enough to be considered so I was put on to the private sector. They were not interested in considering my potential order, they were more concerned in providing cover for the year for every type of order I have. I am not interested in that because there are countries I would not give credit to, I would only deal with on a cash basis. I would prefer it to be on a case by case basis and push the costs on to the client. They really failed completely. We did not get an order and it was back to the drawing board.

 48. You would like to be able to be covered by ECGD?

(Mr Bolton) We would like to have some sort of cover. I think ECGD seems to be the way forward. I accept it would be on a case by case basis because there is a risk with small companies.
I think that would help us a lot.

[FUNNY HE SHOULD SAY THERE IS A RISK WITH SMALL COMPANIES!! HO BLOODY HO, CERTAINLY WAS AND IS A BLOODY OBVIOUS RISK WITH GARY AND GLOBAL TECHNICAL!! RISK OF DEATHS FOR EXAMPLE, AND NOT THEORETICAL ONES BRINLEY THE BERK!]

(Major General Sharman) Some of the small companies do export a niche product which does not fall naturally into the cascading down from a major platform—low level equipment, hand held equipment and so on. What, I suppose, would be possible, although it might be resource demanding for ECGD, would be, perhaps, to pull together a number of small companies' efforts and give cover to a package of support. I could envisage that from our own experience and some of our special interest groups where companies with comparable and complementary products work together. We have a very good example in a subgroup within the DMA called NBC UK, which make respirators and masks, hand held detectors and so on. They found that actually they are more effective if they go and market together than if they try and do it apart and compete with each other. I could imagine ECGD having the flexibility to cover a package like that.

Chairman

49. Mr Bolton, can you tell us the kind of sums that you were talking about, which seem not to reach the glass ceiling, as it were? What does your business do? Global Technical covers a multitude of activities, one would imagine.
(Mr Bolton) Basically the main push we have now is a new type of drugs and explosives detection system. We had a potential order for £60,000 for a number of units, that would have kept me going for a couple of years, but because the only way forward for funding was through letters of credit that were discounted by the bank it got extremely complicated and that is not what the client wanted. It is a relatively small amount and, okay, I accept that there are ceilings with that amount of work that have to be involved in getting to that stage. Small amounts are what keep us in business for a long time and help us expand our market. Because most of it is export it is extremely expensive, so an order of that size would help us market a much wider area and therefore generate more income.

YOU SEE FOLKS!? DO YOU SEE? Both Major General Alan Sharman (retd. thank goodness!) and Brinley Salzmann try to suggest that the meeting had nothing to do with products. Even strongly suggesting that products were not even mentioned! See BOLD UNDERLINE ABOVE Ho Ho Ho! And just as amusing in a funny peculiar way, is that he complains that letters of credit were not what the client wanted!! Possibly because it made the bribery and corruption part of the deal more difficult?

See where Brinley says that Bolton " was not there as part of our Industry team to promote his electrostatic bomb detectors, but was almost certainly airing his comments relating to his practical experiences with marketing his other commercial products around the World", Brinley is being deliberately vague. setting up the old "I DON'T RECALL A THING" defence if needed for later, but he is lying as you can plainly see, and as a quick search of the Committee records, easily available online would have reminded the slippery bugger! But no, in his desperation to try to defend himself and his gallant ex-leader, Major General Aland Sharman (retd.) he makes the same basic errors of fact that ll the dumbasses do. Sorry Brinners, but you are a dumbass mofo!

Of course, given the advantage of 20:20 hindsight with which we are all blessed, the inclusion of Gary on our evidence team might be viewed now as having been unfortunate.

Unfortunate! Blimey. That's an understatement considering the amount of corrupt money and blood that has flowed under the bridge eh! Brinley! Wally boy! Funny how he refers to Gary Bolton, the killer fraudster, as "Gary"? Bit friendly don't you think, only now knowing what he has done? And as I said in an earlier email reply to this nonsense from you, a bit of foresight sometimes helps, especially regarding the Company you keep! I would have checked out anyone I took with me to such an important meeting, but then perhaps the DMA/ADS likes to play fast and loose. Naturally a good stance for such a serious industry with such heightened moral and ethical requirements rightly upon it. OOOOPS, sorry Maj. Gen. (retd.) Forgot your old pal Pinochet or should we call him Pinnochiochet?

There you go Brinley. Told you we would publish. OH DEAR. Almost forgot about the chances we gave Brinley and the ADS/DMA and Major General Alan Sharman (retd.) to make up for having helped a murderous bloody trade take hold. I'll tell you about that in my next post. Till then, au revoir mes amis et mes enemies! Bon Nuit!

VOLLMAR VOMITS AGAIN

OR

Regurgitation. How David Vollmar, Frank Trier and their merry men at Unival try to repeat the same old worn out arguments.

YUCK! More nauseous gaseous gastric bile from Germany. David Vollmar yet again tries to defend himself, his company and the HEDD1 (formerly SNIFFEX and SNIFFEX PLUS). Well, we assume it is David, or maybe it was toy soldier with a toy appendage, Frank Trier? It is unsigned, but that does not stop it being garbage!

So, here in the style we at the Fake Explosives Detectors Campaign are famous for, is the defence of Vollmar/Trier/Unival/HEDD1. Is that the best you can do boys? We have heard it all before AD NAUSEAM, hence the title of VOLLMAR VOMITS....

Want to know the best thing about the statement from Unival? Well, it is the fact that in a few short paragraphs, they slide in most of the major excuses. What economy with words! Shame they are also economic with the actualite. i.e they do bullshit or lie a lot. Do you know when they are lying? We do! When they open their mouths! HA HA HA HA!

Them in black. FEDC in blood red!

The following statement is made on behalf of unival® group, our handheld explosive detector HEDD®1 (LIE 1 - they do not have a working Handheld explosives detector. It is a dowsing rod in fancy dress, and dowsing cannot and does not work anywhere, anyhow, anytime!) and the related methodology only! (LIE 2 - There is no related or actual methodology behind HEDD1, other than the ideomotor effect - LOOK IT UP!- ask any vaguely competent Physicist whether the so called working principle of Magnetic Electrostatic Detection, using a couple of magnets and a radio aerial has any chance of detecting anything?)

Peter Robison,
The Fake Detector Campaigners,

Your email is incredibly embarrassing and totally wrongful. (Embarrassing to you we agree! Wrongful. NO. Not even a little bit, let alone totally! You have produced ZERO EVIDENCE, so how can we be wrong?) It is a very sad example of the damaging potential caused by misguided fanatics. (We are fanatics? What? the people who want to stop fake explosives detectors giving false hope and leading to awful loss of life? COME OFF IT YOU F'ING IDIOTS!) The hate and negative energy that you spread is very similar to the destructiveness of fanatics, who attack people because of their religion, believe or color. You have lost any objectivity! (UMMMMM? Where to start? Objectivity? Got any independent testing done yet David. like you promised back in 2009? We would never attack anyone for their colour. That is a slur on our reputations, but hey, coming from a chump like David Vollmar we can take any amount of ad hominem attack and still not be diverted. SORRY DAVEY BOY! Nice try! As for religion and belief, most of us here are quite happy to attack anything that has ZERO EVIDENCE, like fake explosives detectors or religion. La meme chose! Non!)

HEDD1 and all previous generations based on the Magneto Electrostatic Detection (MED) method have been sold to governmental organizations in more than 35 countries so far, based on successful proof of concept and functionality. (Still not one of your customers in 35 Countries is prepared to come out and admit they have bought this wonder device? Strange!? We keep saying that if we were a small country with limited money for security, yet we had the magical HEDD1, we would tell everybody if we were so confident it worked. This would act as an amazing deterrent to would be terrorists and drug smugglers, but would make us look great in the eyes of our people and the World for protecting our citizens so magnificently with the best invention ever, the HEDD1. But no, not one of them will back you up publicly! How about if you won't tell us who they are, you send them an invitation from us? Ask them all whether just one of them will admit to being a buyer of the miraculously brilliantly useful HEDD1? Just one will do, to start! Ask them if their highly trained by you operatives will participate in a double blind protocol testing program, so we can finally prove this one way or the other, since you won't for some strange reason/) HEDD1 is an active device. (Regrettably you are still active trying to sell your lies. HEDD1 is not and cannot be active other than to detect the corrupt, the gullible or the stupid.) It creates a Modulated Magnetic Field (MMF) that is specially tuned for the bond energy in Nitro Compounds, which are present in most common explosives. The methodology is protected by patent. (Really! MMF! TUNED! BOND ENERGY!- is that 007 energy? - NITRO COMPOUNDS! PSEUDOSCIENTFIC BABBLE! Or PSB Syndrome again! PATENT MY ARSE! We have shown before how patents do not necessarily guarantee functionality. See endless history of patents for things that do not work e.g. perpetual motion/energy machines. Stuff your patents David. They are as worthless as you are!)

The similarity to reference-card devices is only based on a similar shape. (The similarity is because they are the same ideomotor dowsing con! Simple as that!)The antenna of HEDD1 is necessary in order to apply the principle of triangulation, which is the most accepted way of determination of a location.  (Stop trying to talk pseudobabblescience David! Of course any fool knows that one triangulates for accurate positioning. But that means you have to be able to detect something first! So, if the aerial is just the pointer pointy bit, how do your patently absurd magnets detect the nitro compounds and transmit a signal to the aerial? Of course they can't and don't! Or are you calling Sidney Alford a liar?

Neither unival group nor HEDD1 and the MED method are part of the UK based investigations against reference-card devices. (Really? We understood that the UK agent for Unival, John Wyatt 'Twerp' - Colonel Blimp Retired - is under investigation? Do you know something we don't? That would be a first! Do tell!) No export ban exists against our devices or technology! (We keep telling you f'ing fraudsters. Just because the authorities are weak, corrupt, stupid, useless or implicated, or don't act for some other non-reason, does not mean you are right. It just means they are wrong.) We are currently working with a number of industrial/ scientific organizations to further develop the technology respectively to integrate this technology into new methods for remote detection. (WHO ARE THESE INDUSTRIAL/SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATIONS? Or are they strangely shy of any association with you, like your customers appear to be? We are serious enquirers. In fact, I promise to be your best salesman if you do prove HEDD1! Honest! In fact, why not send us 100 units immediately on a Sale Or Return basis. I promise if it works we will shift them in about 24 hours, then we can negotiate a full UK agency. After all, privately you have to admit John Wyatt did fuck it up on Newsnight, with all that bs about "intangible science." I mean, you tell us it is completely tangible MED/MFF/BOND ENERGY/NITRO DETECTION. Go on, tell us what is intangible about that? Or is it like when McCormick said the ADE651 was "akin to dowsing." So, all we need to become one of your most serious and committed enquirers ever, is some proof that HEDD1 works, and sorry, anecdotal or secret evidence doesn't cut it, sadly. After all, we could all sell horse shit as gold if we were allowed to say it was and not get contradicted!) More detailed information is available upon request for any serious enquirer. (Great, We can't wait!)

The integration of our technology as a complementary tool to protective measures helps organizations to protect against Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). (The old get out of jail clause i.e don't use HEDD1 in isolation. Use dogs and other detection equipment as well. That way, if HEDD1 fails no one can say which method failed, and if they find something HEDD1 can falsely claim the credit. Clever ain't it! NO! We can see right through this kind of disclaimer/excuse. After all, we have heard it all before! And that sick call to the emotions using the expression IEDs. DAVID and FRANK. Real men die almost daily trying to save lives by searching for and defusing bombs and IEDs. You claim you have something that can help them, yet no major Western Government, Armed Forces or Security Service, or Police, or Border Guards appears to have bought the HEDD1. If it was so marvellous then wouldn't you have sold them by now? Also, how come you were caught with your pants down in that Thai test, when you claimed you were just helping your local agent, but oddly, like McCormick and Bolton you were really just desperately trying to flog to corrupt regimes, and not focusing a much cheaper sales effort in Europe? Odd? Despite John Wyatt 'Twerps' pathetic attempts to sell it here!) To my best of knowledge there is currently no device available in the market that is as easy to handle and as cost efficient as HEDD1 in terms of explosive detection from remote distance. (Just prove it then! We can prove it. Ask Sidney Alford, or is he not a valid expert?)

You will be held responsible for any damage caused with wrong statements. (What damage? You have already previously admitted that we have damaged your HEDD1 business. GOOD. We are so happy! Go on. Hold us responsible!! Is it two or three legal threats you have flung at us over nearly three years. Funny. Still no action. Just like the HEDD1!) Stop writing such emails. (Not until you prove us wrong! Ho Ho!!) Stop wasting time! (Not a bit of it David. We love wasting your time and will keep doing so until you are down or dead!)

To all recipients of the emails from Peter Robinson aka FEDC: Please mark them as spam or demand deletion from this mailing list.

TO ALL RECIPIENTS - SIMPLY ASK DAVID OR FRANK FOR THE DETAILS OF INDEPENDENT AUTHORITATIVE DOUBLE BLIND PROTOCOL TESTING THAT THEY HAVE UNDERTAKEN, AND HAS BEEN REPLICATED SUCCESSFULLY. IF SO BUY, BUY, BUY. IF NOT EITHER BUY AND DIE, OR DON'T! AND BYE BYE BYE TO UNIVAL, HEDD1, DAVID VOLLMAR, FRANK TRIER, JOHN WYATT 'TWERP' AND ANY OTHERS INVOLVED IN SELLING OR TRYING TO SELL HEDD1

TAKEN THE LIBERTY

Wish we had taken the liberty of the fraudsters. Can't be too much longer now can it Techo? Not after we told the plodders everything they ever needed to know long ago?

No, taken the liberty to publish this blog in pdf form at the following location. It starts at the first post so if you don't know much about the story it is easier than reading backwards here on the blog itself, and is in an easier format to read, although some of the colour identifying text is missing.

Please feel free to spread the link around. I am happy to send out pdf copies by email if requested. Just making sure it can't be shut down or shut up!! Paranoid. Moi? Jamais!! Just having fun spreading the manure on the muderous fraudsters heads as much as we can!! Ho Ho. Happy Xmas!!

THE LAST POST?

A piper plays the Last Post. In memory of those who served, and in honour of those who serve now!
We here at the Fake Explosives Detectors Campaign wish this was our last post! But somehow we feel this is unlikely!

I have used the Last Post title deliberately. If you do not know, The Last Post can be either a bugle call within British Infantry regiments or a cavalry trumpet call in British Cavalry and Royal Regiment of Artillery (Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Artillery) used at Commonwealth military funerals and ceremonies commemorating those who have been killed in war. And we certainly do commemorate and celebrate our heroes.

On the other hand, we denigrate and demolish the villains involved in the fake detectors scam trade.

Now, why should this be our last post?

Because Techo and I have summarised our key reasons why every one of these swivelling aerial cons are indeed that i.e. pure, knowing, deliberate frauds on the part of the sellers, and either corruption or stupidity on the part of the buyers.

This should be the end of the matter because the fraudsters have no rational answers to these points at all.

1. The 'IF IT WAS REAL' clincher.

DECONSTRUCTING HEDD1

Got bored of the pictures of David Vollmar and Frank Trier, so thought you ought to take a look at the HEDD1 (Formerly SNIFFEX, AND SNIFFEX PLUS). Do I hear sniffing? Laughing?

Sadly, like Frank Trier, this one does not have its' radio aerial extended and at right angles to the very nicely designed hand grip.

Now, Vollmar and Trier at Unival claim it works by MED - Magneto-Electrostatic-Detection. More like MAD - Mutually Assured Destruction! Different they say from the reference card versions of the same fraud, like the ADE651 and the GT200.

DAVEY AND FRANKIE COME OUT TO PLAY - THE UNIVAL GANG!

Yes folks. Its that fine figure of a fellow, fearless Frank Trier of Unival. Sadly this time not in one of his action man uniforms, but still looking quite sexy in his smart suit and tie. OOOOHHHH Frankie, you hunk of sh!t, we have the hots for you!! The Red Hot Pokers I mean!!  (pic is a still from the Thai tests David and Frank agreed to, then, when the HEDD1 failed, made all the usual excuses!)

He's Frankie, He's Frankie,
He couldn't detect his arse from
a hole in the ground.

He's Frankly, He's Frankly
An idiot, an idiot. And a very naughty little boy, with an itsy bitsy teeny eeny, yellow bellied little weeny!

MIRA TELECOM ADDENDUM

We'll start with one of our favourite pictures from the rogues gallery. here we have from left to right: Dragos Basmaluta, CEO Mira Telecom, Stelian Ilie, Head of Mira Telecom, Mrs General Pierre Hadji Georgiou, James McCormick of ATSC, and General Pierre Hadji Georgiou of Prosec in Lebanon. So, just to be clear before we begin, this is a picture of McCormick, who is as yet un charged for his fraudulent business, with two of his main associates together. The poster next to them is for the ADE651 and is marketing material from Prosec.

BOLTIN' BOLTON - And other merrye olde tales of merrye death

THERE'S BLOOD ON SOME HANDS! AND BLOOD MONEY TOO!

Just a very brief entry, and for those familiar with the geography of Great (not bloody always!) Britain, this is not about Bolton, Lancashire, although it could be about ten thousand holes...geddit? Oh, sorry, that should be Blackburn, Lancashire...I digress, back to the real damage. Yes my friends, real dead people, and people with missing bits, because some idiots decided to sell fraudulent explosive detectors, some idiots were fooled by them, some idiots were bribed to buy them, and now those who should be doing something about it are running around in ever decreasing circles, making themselves and this country look even dumber than usual,

EXCUSES EXCUSES

Our snivelling, swivellers who like to sell lies all seem to use the same book, GET OUT OF THAT, or Every Excuse You'll Ever Need.

They have all used one or more of the following when challenged to produce proper test results, or to undergo proper testing.

We have obtained a copy and here are the most common that we have received during the campaign.

We are going to have a vote to choose our favourite (currently it could be James McCormick, the ADE651 fraudster, with "Double blind testing doesn't work with this equipment.")

ONE WAY WE GET THE FRAUDSTERS TO SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE IS THIS SORT OF STUFF. THEY CANNOT RESIST LOOKING.

EMAILED OUT TO A WHOLE COLLECTION OF THE FRAUDSTERS ADDRESSES WE HAVE GATHERED,

WE TRACK IP ADDRESSES.

WE KNOW FROM SPIES THAT THIS DOES UPSET SOME OF THE MORE SENSITIVE SOULS AMONGST OUR CRIMINAL FRATERNITY.

BUT THEY WERE ALL TOLD LONG AGO IF THEY DIDN'T KNOW ALREADY, SO NO SYMPATHY DUE!!

MOST WANTED

ADE 651 MOB

Yep. Who could mistake the lovely James McCormick of ATSC. The ex-Merseyside Booby (sorry, Bobby), who came up with the ADE651 after he had seen the MOLE fail miserably at Sandia Labs. And he didn't know it was a con...Not half!

Well Jim, there you were sitting pretty (ummm..maybe not so pretty) on your piles (probably!) of blood money from Iraq. Now it ain't looking so good for you.
