Thanks to Clinton Rogers of BBC Somerset, the fake explosives detectors story continues.
Stelian Ilie at Mira Telecom just cannot stop dreaming of getting rich with the fake detector fraud.
The BBC report below gives details of how Mira have patented a new version of the detector. After their involvement with James McCormick and the ADE651 you would have thought they might have learned their lesson by now. Of course, they have also dabbled with the AL-6D, the DKL Lifeguard and the EPOFAT Train Guard detection system. But no, their addiction to dodgy detectors just goes on.
Just to clarify, gaining a patent does not mean you have to prove that the product actually works.
It is incredible that the European Union has funded Mira to undertake research into explosives detection to the tune of 750 000 Euros.
When will this scam be done and dusted?
Just to remind you, Stelian Ilie has threatened us with legal action in the past, but doesn't seem to have the courage of his conviction to follow up his threats. Perhaps he will this time? Stelian, you are a conman and fraudster, and hopefully it will not be long before you are locked up in prison, just like your old friend McCormick.

There is a more detailed report here, but think you can only access this in the U.K.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03x0tx1/Inside_Out_West_03_03_2014/
P.S. I forgot to mention that the new Mira Telecom 'detector' finally has the flashing light that McCormick said would make his ADE651 look more sophisticated. Now that must mean it works now, doesn't it? Tell us what you think!
FAKE EXPLOSIVES DETECTORS AND LONG RANGE LOCATORS: ADE 651,GT200,Alpha 6,SNIFFEX,HEDD1,PSD-22,DKL LIFEGUARD,H3TEC,GADE651,AL-6D,KHOJI, QUADRO TRACKER,MOLE ETC. A TRUE STORY OF INTERNATIONAL FRAUD, CORRUPTION AND DEATH. DOWSING CAN'T DETECT ANYTHING! IT'S ALL PSEUDOSCIENCE. The sellers and buyers are criminal. MORE MIRA MUDDLE?
In case you did not see the most recent comment from one of our anonymous contributors, I thought it might be a good idea to bring it to your attention.
First, here is the comment:
'Hey there, it looks like Mira Telecom is not getting the idea that the nonsense of the ADE651 is not working. They are researching some rescue equipment that include 'portable units that will be carried by rescuers to improve detection and help them locate the victims'. What would you people think this portable equipment could look like from Stelian's POV.
http://www.rescuecell.eu/visiting-mira-telecoms-facilities-in-bucharest/#sthash.ghJrroKj.dpuf
The actual facilities that were visited are the ones built by EU funding as one can read from the big poster at the entry
I do believe that the good people from rescuecell would like to know more about the history of Mira Telecom in the 'detection' industry'
Since Mira Telecom and their boss Stelian Ilie have a long record of involvement with fake detectors including the ADE651, AL-6D and DKL Lifeguard, we wonder if their contribution to the rescuecell project might be one of those dodgy devices? Perhaps the DKL Lifeguard which purports to be able to detect bodies in disaster situations e.g. damaged buildings. Of course, just like the ADE651 and AL-6d, the DKL Lifeguard is useless.
Perhaps the partners of Mira Telecom in the rescuecell project should review whether Mira make a good company to be involved with.

MORE ROMANIAN MYSTERY
Below is an open letter to Stelian Ilie at Mira Telecom in Romania. For those of you who are new to this blog, Mira Telecom were partners with, and agents for Mr James McCormick and the ADE651. Not only did they sell that useless, fraudulent, fake detector, but also the equally useless DKL Lifeguard, and AL-6D versions of the swivelling stick.
News reaches us from Romania that they have also been involved with another 'detection' technology, which we believe is also probably useless. Please see below for relevant links.
Dear Mr Ilie,
We understand that your company is responsible for having installed the EPOFAT Train Guard system at Nicolina Station, which you and the manufacturers claim can detect humans in train wagons, and is supposed to help with border control to prevent illegal immigration.
We understand that the system is claimed to work by detecting the electromagnetic field of the human body, and that it can operate through metal and concrete.
We understand that the system was sold for 550 000 Euros, and that the money to buy it was provided by the European Union.
Our information indicates that this project is a pilot for possible further installations.
We also understand that the system is still not operating despite having been in place since late 2011, or early 2012. We understand that this is because it has still not been commissioned and tested by your so called experts.
In the opinion of a highly respected U.K. based Professor of Physics, the ability of the system to work as claimed is highly questionable. His exact words are as follows:
'The website doesn't have much in the way of technical information, so it's difficult for me to make any specific comments.
However the operating principle, remotely detecting the electromagnetic fields of humans, seems rather dubious to me. While people might create very small fields, due to the movement of electrical charges in nerves and the like, these would be so small as to be virtually undetectable. They would be completely drowned by everyday background EM fields from radio stations, mobile phones and the like.
I would like to think that anyone considering buying such a device would insist on seeing rigorous, double blind independent tests to prove its effectiveness, but somehow I doubt that will be the case.'
So Mr Ilie, we have some important questions:
1. Why is the system still not operational so long after installation?
2. What rigorous double blind testing has taken place on the system? If it has been fully tested, please provide details as to who carried out the testing, the protocols used, and the results?
Given your history of involvement with the fraudulent ADE651, DKL Lifeguard, and AL-6D 'detectors' you will understand that we are highly suspicious of your involvement with any security equipment that appears to have suspiciously pseudoscientific sounding explanations.
Please note that we are copying this letter to the procurement authority in Romania who were responsible for acquiring the system, as well as the European Funding agency responsible for providing the money used to buy it, so I suggest that you had better have some very good answers.
Yours sincerely,
Peter Robinson

ANONYMOUS PROBLEM
I have a request to make to all my wonderful followers and readers. I hope it is not too much to ask.
As those of you who have been keeping up with the comments to my blog pieces recently will know, there has been a flood of people using the posting name 'Anonymous'.
Now, the first thing I have to say is that if you want to keep your identity a secret, I have no objection to that. In fact, if you try to defend dowsing or the fake detectors then I can understand why. After all, if you are that daft, then you really would not want anyone to know who you are. People might laugh at you, and that would not be nice.
On the other hand, so many different people calling themselves Anonymous can get a bit confusing at times, especially when trying to reply. In consultation with Techowiz we have come up with a solution to this problem.
Don't worry! You can still keep your real identity a secret. All you need to do is create a user name so that we can reply specifically to your comments.
If you are struggling to think up a user name, we have some suggestions. For those who are supporters of dowsing or the fake detectors, here is a list of possible names you could choose from:
PLONKER
DIPSTICK
MORON
BRAINDEAD
DOH!
NUMPTY
BLOCKHEAD
NUTTER
AIRHEAD
FRUITCAKE
MEATHEAD
IMBECILE
APOSTOL
And, for those of you who don't like the people who sell or support the frauds:
LOVELY PERSON
GENIUS
TERMINATOR
JUDGE DREDD
EINSTEIN
BONA FIDE
Mr or Mrs SCRUPLES
EVI DENCE
F.ACTUAL
P.S. In case you have not had a chance to read the sort of comments I have been receiving lately, there are some very good examples on the post 'A TRUE GENIUS?' below. Enjoy!

MIRA IN THE MIRE ONCE MORE
Following on from my last post Techowiz has now followed up the story of Mira Telecom picking up the DKL Lifeguard with a piece over on his blog, which reminds us that Sandia Labs carried out testing that proved the DKL Lifeguard is as worthless as the ADE651 (Is Stelian Ilie at Mira addicted to selling sh1te we ask ourselves?).

DO THEY NEVER LEARN? MIra Telecom at it again!
Once again credit to the eagle eyed Techowiz.
Some of you might recall that Mira Telecom were ever so close to James McCormick and the ADE651 (see previous posts).
Now Techowiz has discovered a photo on the Flickr account of Mira Telecom where someone from that company is giving a presentation of the DKL Lifeguard. For those of you not familiar with that incredible product, it is a discredited and useless device that claims to be able to find people in say collapsed buildings.
After Mira ended their involvement with McCormick and the ADE651 after we hounded them, you would have thought that they might have thought twice before supporting another bogus product. But no, Stelian Ilie seems to be a sucker for punishment.
See here for the evidence (P.S. To Stelian, if you remove the photo I have copied the page).
This picture was taken in June 2012!

THE AMAZING RANDI
Anyone who has followed the Fake Explosives Detectors Campaign (FEDC) will know that I was inspired by James Randi of the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF)
Back in 2008 Randi issued his Million Dollar Challenge (MDC) to the ADE651. It was the fact that the ADE651 was being sold by a British company that got my goat (Damn, I loved that goat! Not carnally I hasten to add! Just joking. Got my goat means it made me mightily angry),
Anyway, it was the Randi MDC that motivated me to start to investigate further, and subsequently to encounter my great friend and great man Techowiz. Anyone who wants to know more can go back to the beginning of this blog and follow the story, or see the book of the blog at the link below (the book is easier to follow because it starts at the very beginning).
Here we link to a recent interview with The Amazing Randi at the Magic Castle. The interviewer is the marvellous mentalist, Max Maven.
It's well worth listening to the whole interview because Randi is truly a great skeptic. Despite his advancing age and recent illness, he is a deep well of great stories and wisdom.
However, for those of you with not much time, fast forward to 40 minutes in when Randi discusses the MDC with Max, and explains a little of how it works. He also mentions the Quadro Tracker and the ADE651 (actually he calls it the ADE561 but I think we'll forgive him for getting two digits the wrong way around!).
Well, we are now over three years into the campaign, and of course, none of the main criminals involved in the trade in fancy dress dowsing rods have been charged with any crime. Since Randi has been publicising this scam since 1995, isn't it AMAZING that little or nothing has been done to end this disgusting fraud? If you agree, please spread the word.
N.B. Randi can be very generous to deluded people who believe in all sorts of BS, despite the fact that he endeavours to expose frauds, scams, psychics (e.g. Sylvia Browne and John Edward) etc etc. We just want to make it clear that none of the Fake Explosives Detectors have ever been put forward for the MDC despite numerous challenges from Randi down the years, and despite some of our 'favourite' fraudsters saying they would or might take the challenge, or indeed get proper testing carried out. WHY NOT? Because of course they know they are selling a fraud!

THE LAST POST?
![]() |
| A piper plays the Last Post. In memory of those who served, and in honour of those who serve now! |
I
have used the Last Post title deliberately. If you do not know, The
Last Post can be either a bugle call
within British Infantry regiments or a cavalry trumpet call in
British Cavalry and Royal Regiment of Artillery (Royal Horse Artillery
and Royal Artillery) used at Commonwealth military funerals and
ceremonies commemorating those who have been killed in war. And we
certainly do commemorate and celebrate our heroes.
On the other hand, we denigrate and demolish the villains involved in the fake detectors scam trade.
Now, why should this be our last post?
Because
Techo and I have summarised our key reasons why every one of these
swivelling aerial cons are indeed that i.e. pure, knowing, deliberate
frauds on the part of the sellers, and either corruption or stupidity on
the part of the buyers.
This should be the end of the matter because the fraudsters have no rational answers to these points at all.
1. The 'IF IT WAS REAL' clincher.

EXCUSES EXCUSES
Our snivelling, swivellers who like to sell lies all seem to use the same book, GET OUT OF THAT, or Every Excuse You'll Ever Need.
They have all used one or more of the following when challenged to produce proper test results, or to undergo proper testing.
We have obtained a copy and here are the most common that we have received during the campaign.
We are going to have a vote to choose our favourite (currently it could be James McCormick, the ADE651 fraudster, with "Double blind testing doesn't work with this equipment.")
